An O'Hare report, from the October 26, 1999, Airports:

"Identix fingerscan readers are replacing swipe cards and PIN numbers for security access at Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports. The pilot program, which began in 1998, tested the fingerscan system using nearly 700 Illinois truck drivers with access to 24 cargo sites at O'Hare. The Identix systems eventually will be used to identify more than 50,000 workers at the two airports."

50,000 workers? -- That's going to require a lot of equipment.
