I must share this with you. It is about our HMO.

I hate them. What do people do who can't snip through red tape?

We received our ID cards for our HMO a month and a half late (a clerical error- I called 5 times and finally got someone to input us manually into the system.)

Because our cards were late I had to pay for my husband's meds out of our own pocket and then ask for reimbursement (beg really).

So I get together all the documentation, I send it certified return receipt requested (because I KNOW what these people are like) and what happens? They send me 10.00 on a 300.00 claim. What is more they show the claim as being a 500.00 claim. Do I understand this? no.

So I called. We have conferenced with everyone involved. I explained exactly what happened 4 or 5 times to many people. They all claim to understand. They all say it will be fixed. Will it? I wonder. But I have the time and energy to threaten and pursue them to the ends of Hell, if necessary. I do not believe this is true of everyone. The errors in our medical billing over the years has amounted to thousands of dollars and NEVER has it been in our favor. WHAT do the people of average or below average intelligence do? Do they just roll over and accept the denial of benefits? Pay the extra money demanded by the doctor that they 1. should not be asking for or that 2.should have been paid by the insurance? I really wonder about this.
