I think the Pokemon pie is sliced up into many thin pieces. My kids got Kids Meals at Burger King today and they received a "Polywhirl" Pokemon. Ninetendo is listed on the tag but the blurb that came with it sez "Collect the full line of Pokemon toys from Hasbro." I doubt we're going to get rich from the money from BK <g>.

Too bad HAS didn't do as well as KIDE today!

I bought some NTDOY today for the heck of it. I think that everyone is concerned about the competition to their N64 boxes and not paying attention to the Pokephenom.

The licenses are granted by KIDE in North America. Hasbro owns the plush and many of the toy licenses. There are five or six other licensees, but a few more are expected to be announced for other merchandise.

This is a great time of year to own the toy and videogame stocks. From my post to the yahoo board:

Guys, I'm sure you are familiar with THQI, if only because eventually HAS may buy them out to add to its
videogame business. Anyway, for those of you who like sane valuations like HAS and want some benefit of the
stunning Pokemon craze I submit this.

Anyway, the thought is that Pokemon is driving Gameboy and Nintendo 64 hardware like crazy,
particularly the Gameboy. And THQ is the greatest third-party Gameboy publisher. And after kids buy the
latest Pokemon yellow (assuming they bought red and blue and pinball over the last year already), there's
nothing left to buy except third-party games. And of course THQ has Rugrats, WWF, Tiger Woods,
Madden football, etc. Not to mention that sub-20 PE and ready to break out.
