Tony
I know the ticker you speak of and I noted a price on Dell @ 40 5/8 and I checked on Island and it was @ 40 3/16.The CNBC quote had to have come from another ECN or most likely Instinet, which I know CNBC uses for before the bell and after hours quotes.Instinet is used by large money institutions among others and is the largest after hours trading vehicle so that is what the Street uses along with World Markets and other factors(that only insiders are privy to) as a gauge to set opening prices.Hope this helps.
Cheers
Ed

Hey, Tony, congratulations on your decision to go long on the mighty Cisco. All of my intuition about csco missing top line and gross margin expectations was dead wrong, which is true about 51% of the time. The lesson I learned is to never try to time an 800 pound Gorilla!

Thank god our stocks are doing better than our 49ers.

My compliments to all of the strong hands on this board!
Frank
