X, the place to be were JGB's. they yielded over 8% slightly before the market peaked and the yield fell to a low of 0,6% at it's lows last year. it was one of the biggest bond rallies ever. so the optimum way of playing it would have been to stay long stocks way beyond the levels one would subjectively have regarded as insane, and then switch to bonds, real quick...<ggg>
