Before you gals get too full of yourselves maybe you should check into Freemusic.com. Idealabs founder Bill Gross is earmarking $100 million in funding (pre IPO) to help deliver free music from several established and up and coming artists. The company is being stocked with several very high profile record execs. It looks like they are going to try to build an online record label that takes advantage of the internet and its efficient distribution.
I still think you are fooling yourselves if you think encryption will prevent piracy. As more and more consumers gain computer literacy more and more content will be pirated.
As for your comment:
"Imagine, all those intellectual property lawyers will be out of work."
The world will be a much better place with a few unemployed lawyers.
