TOKYO, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Softbank Corp said on Tuesday it hopes to start up Nasdaq Japan, a sister version of U.S. Nasdaq stock market, as early as next June.

The company earlier said it plans to launch the new market by the end of 2000.

I, too, cannot figure out how Softbank moves although this is one of my primary reasons for investing in it. It does NOT seem to run in conjunction with the US stock market and is more a play on the Japanese/European recovery. Since it is not listed in the US, it is also nearly immune from the volatility created by US daytraders.
