Joey, Re: Also, I don't think Intel execs would be so bullish if there was much uncertainty or problems they knew about.

Jim is suspecting that they are covering things at lease(
if not lying).

RE:"Jim, give it a week. Camino should be ready to go by the 15th, and Intel
is waiting for Camino for its big push. "...

Waiting for a chipset that only uses expensive Rambus seems a catch 22. We shall see.

RE:"There should be plenty of supply in time for the late Nov.
Holiday rush"
That's really cutting it close...

Joey, I believe you are right.

I called DELL computer today and I had a pretty cordial conversation with the sales rep who seemed quite knowledgeable about all the combinations of chipsets, mainboards and processors.

I pushed him to try and get some advice as to when I can expect to put in an order for a 733mhz Coppermine w/the 820 chipset and 128 megs of RDRAM. He was reluctant to tell me anything. After further small talk and joking with him he took down my phone number so he could call me when the PC became available for sale.

Before I hung up he said that I'd be hearing from him "REALLY SOON".

I have little doubt that Intel is saving all the 733's for the Camino launch which will silence (temproarily) the anything but Intel crowd.
