I agree that this is not a zero sum game - not by a long shot.

But, to compare Gregg's contributions and those of Tero's is to mix apples and oranges IMO.

Gregg knew the Q from top to bottom. That may also be the case with Tero and Nokia. But the posts of each are very very different.

Gregg specialized in depth of analysis of all facets of CDMA as a technology in the large world where GSM was (and is) entrenched.

He then put the Q in that context. Again broadly analyzed.

Tero seems to me to miss a major element of the overall picture - CDMA's role now and in the future - particularly its central role in 3rd gen.

Handsets are interesting but not central. They are a boxes. Pretty boxes in Nokia's case.

And my respect for Nokia, its management and its leading position in telecom equip broadly defined is deep and strong. Many facets of strength beyond handsets IMO. But again just IMO.

My interest is what is inside the box, not the box itself. And even more importantly, what surrounds the box (handset) and makes the box function.

HDR is a major new tornado IMO. Tero would do well to pay attention to it. For the sake of those who respect his views.

All just my personal view.
