Hi Pigboy, nice to see you again. As you well know, we've been ahead of the curve since like forever, leading with our wallets. The great thing is, it's finally just beginning to pay off.

IRT server farms, I don't know what INTC, SUNW, IBM et.al. have in their plans WRT fibre channel fat pipes. But I have one telling stat that came out of the conference. In an ethernet network, a read-write request requires 700 CPU instructions for a 1024 bit payload (overhead, etc), but using fibre channel requires only 70 CPU instructions to retrieve and deliver a 8192 bit payload. I think there might be a definite payoff to using our favorite transport for server interconnects.
