For further clarification, the post I was referring to is reply no. 5759 on this thread. I wrote, amongst other things:

I definitely do not agree with him about where WOFDM is (not) applicable. He maybe talking about VOFDM since VOFDM has this vector element that, in my belief, may require larger antennas (or an antenna array) and some consistency in the multipath.

WOFDM as applied in the IEEE802.11a, again IMO, is definitely targeting wireless LAN applications both fixed and portable.

Which was in reply to Peter E's remark:

"COFDM, VOFDM, WOFDM, etc., will be successful in the market, IP not withstanding. Not in devices powered by AAA batteries, but on desktops and entertainment cabinets."
