Enlighten Announces Release 3.4 Of EnlightenDSM For Red Hat Linux -- Launches
First-Ever E-Commerce Web Site

Business Editors

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1999--Enlighten Software
Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFTW), a leading
provider of event monitoring and workgroup administration for open systems,
announced today that EnlightenDSM version 3.4 will be available to support
Red Hat Linux version 6.0 and version 6.1. With support already
established for TurboLinux, EnlightenDSM 3.4 is the leading systems
management solution available for, and able to operate across, multiple
Linux environments.

"Red Hat Linux is a strong market leader among Linux operating environment
distributions and enjoys almost a 55% share of worldwide shipments. Red Hat
shipped 1.4 million copies in 1998, and this represented over 42% growth
from 1997 shipments," said Paul Mason, IDC's Vice President of
Infrastructure Software Research. "The Linux phenomenon is really roiling
the world of operating environments. IDC has forecast the entire Linux
Operating Environment market to grow at over 25% CAGR through 2003, whereas
all other Server Operating Environments are forecast to grow at only 12%
CAGR during this period. It is significant to see Enlighten continue to
move its product delivery capability further in the direction of these key
platforms for future growth."

The EnlightenDSM version 3.4 release will be available for download from
Enlighten's Web site enlightendsm.com on November 15th.
For a limited time only, a single machine license of EnlightenDSM 3.4 will
be available for $199.00 via this newly launched e-commerce Web site. Using
a credit card, customers can purchase, download and immediately begin
utilizing the power of EnlightenDSM. The easy to download and install
package gets the customer up and running in minutes.

EnlightenDSM provides a single graphical interface to concurrently manage
mixed environments comprised of various Linux, Unix, NT and Windows 95/98
machines. EnlightenDSM provides event monitoring which results in improved
computing resource availability and workgroup administration which delivers
increased productivity for systems administration professionals by
simplifying complex, lengthy and repetitive tasks and consolidating views
across collections of networked systems.

"With support for both Red Hat and TurboLinux, Enlighten has established
platform coverage for the majority of commercial Linux distribution. Given
the rapid growth in the use of Linux in a variety of Internet applications,
including web servers, this presents a very attractive market for Enlighten.
Further, our existing Unix and Windows users of EnlightenDSM are
increasingly looking to make use of Linux, and our ability to concurrently
provide support across all of these various systems further extends our value
proposition," said Bill Bradley, Enlighten President.

Adding INPH, 26 7/16 to 26 3/4 - shorts are getting complacent by now, and TokyoMex just recommends it to his members.
