SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Dow Jones)--International Business Machines Corp. (IBM)
is using NeoMagic Corp.'s (NMGC) multimedia accelerator chips in its new
ThinkPad notebook computers.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Wednesday, NeoMagic said the IBM ThinkPad 600X incorporates
its MagicMedia256ZX multimedia accelerator, while the ThinkPad 390X uses its
MagicMedia256AV. Earlier versions of the ThinkPad 390 and ThinkPad 600 series
also ran MagicMedia256 accelerators, NeoMagic said.

NeoMagic makes graphics chips for notebook computers.
