Why is it that they seemingly avoided uttering the "Y" word in that article??

If I'm not mistaken, many of these small time "loan-sharking" operations are operated by the Yakuza, Japanese organized criminals who sport terrific tattoos and missing pinkies.

It will be interesting to see how the Yakuza is impacted if Japan actually proves itself serious about rooting out corruption.
