Hi Ish,

Really sorry to hear about your wife's riding accident... sounds bad... Have had a couple of good friends have somewhat similar accidents (horses, cars, motorcycles) and it can be a long road back recovering from multiple bone injuries, especially in legs... fortunately my friends are just about 100% again a couple of years down the road so I hope the same for your wife.

Anyhow, it's frustrating to be too far away to be of much help to you, but you know you're in my thoughts as well as everyone else's on DAR.

Take care,
Croc

Dear Bill, sorry to hear about your wife's accident. SI has been pretty much down all day, so this is my first chance to read your post and respond, IF it goes through. If there is anything I can do, please ask. Wonder if she'd like to post on SI while she's recovering? We promise not to tell the truth about you.<g>

Best wishes for Ms. Ish. I somehow figure her to be
a woman of 'true grit' who will come thru this just fine.

I wish the Mrs a speedy recovery. Legs are a bad thing to injure. I'm really sorry. Take care of yourself too. I know my husband was overwhelmed when I was injured- and looking back on it I should have made sure he got out more and had some rest and relaxation. So here's hoping everything goes well for both of you.

Jeez, Ish. MJ is home from school today with a cold, and she and I send our best. MJ is an old horse person, and she said, "Horses are big."

You've got your work cut out for you.

No doubt.

I learned when I fell and broke my heels, that it was easier, for me personally, to be the one hurt, than the one worrying and watching and helping. I'm not as tough as MJ. We both, have agreed that's true. Harder for her, and easier for me.

All I had to do was try to get well. And try to stay positive. How MJ has survived all these things, I don't know. But I could do it (almost), because it was happening to me. When I think of being in her position, I start to get afraid.

The best rest of all, is in hope and happiness. When you can immerse yourselves and each other in it. Then you can bend many other things.

Our best to you. Good luck, Ish.

And remember this good advice of X's:

<<<I know my husband was overwhelmed when I was injured- and looking back on it I should have made sure he got out more and had some rest and relaxation.>>>

Bill,

Sorry to hear about the accident. Best wishes to the Mrs. for a speedy recovery.

And don't write off those evening walks in the woods just yet--will and determination are mighty powerful healing forces.

Take care.

Rick

Oh, yeah, something that might help ~ private duty nurses. These aren't RNs, they are LPNs, and are good with all the mundane physical stuff like helping go to the toilet, and bathe, and dress, and so forth. You should start lining one up now, so you can have relief shifts.

Sorry to hear of your wife's terrible accident. It sounds like recovery will take a long time. But I hope neither of you give up hope for a full (or close to full) recovery in time.

Best wishes in the tough times ahead.
