Sounds like a great idea. RB goes down sometimes too though.

Russ I didn't see your post about Yahoo, so I edited my original message to include Yahoo. Thread, please decide.
Yahoo or RB?

Re SI probs, interestingly enough towards the end of the serious problems this morning I discovered the OLD SI worked fine!

The problem was caused no doubt by the addition of FREE real time quotes on this site this morning. Since Charter Comms CHTR owns go2net and they in turn have their logo plastered above, I'm sure the 3 billion they just raised in their IPO this morning should cover the cost of any new servers if they are needed.

Yahoo would be my vote because it has a faster refresh than RB. One disadvantage is that you will get more salient points of view on RB than on yahoo. In fact for the most part, yahoo boards are like people magazine. Easy to digest but of little substance. (Pardon the dead tree simile.)

Haven't read all the posts, so don't know what the consensus is on it...but I vote for RB. Their servers are faster than yahoo's.

might want to try ICQ...instant real time messaging as you type.

But, this AM was the pits. Anything is cool with me when the lights go out.

Kevin, YHOO and RB sound fine. As well, I am considering sending out emails to members of this thread in the event of another SI blackout, which has been happening more frequently of late.

Today, for instance, I was trying to log on SI to reiterate the alerts on both JFAX and BEOS, especially the later. Also, I wasn't able to send out the timely alert on INPH around 26 3/8.

Yahoo or RB is fine with me...permanently
would be even better. Between servers
being down and all too frequent extremely slow
access times, si has not gotten its proverbial
act together...especially when you compare with
WallStreetStand which has lightning speed
accessibility.
