Duke,

I used to be a contractor inside the beltway. I got a full dose
of gov't bureaucracy and corruption. When I left DC, I used to
tell people, "If everyone knew what I know about US government
contracting, no one would pay their taxes." To me, good government
is less government (not no government, however).

Government can be useful, IMO, in setting and keeping standards,
like ANSI. It may not be perfect, but I think it works ok. I
see no use for intrusive entry into the computer business by
Washington DC, and I do not believe that ANYONE in the business,
including McNealy and Ellison, would allow it.

An internet commerce commision??? No way.

cheers,
cherylw
