Back of the Web
BackWeb Technologies (BWEB: news, msgs) shot up 6 1/16, or 21 percent, to 36 5/8. The San Jose, Calif.- and Israel-based company which develops a push delivery system, received applause from analysts after adding customers Hewlett-Packard and Jefferies & Co on Monday. BancBoston Robertson Stephens Internet analyst John Powers reiterated his "buy," rating. According to Powers, push technology is now being implemented as an Internet communication infrastructure.
