Greg...about UPS
My father is a client of Morgan Stanley, so I used a sledgehammer and *asked* my father to get some shares and give me a few. He says he's been told he will be getting some. Trouble is, I'll get the stock certificates and won't be able to trade them, at risk of giving my "buy and hold" parent a coronary. He's owned some stocks for 20 years or more--has never sold a thing.

That UPS puppy better go up after it's issued. It's possible the large float could hold it down a bit, but not sure about that. What do you think?

I believe UPS was only priced today, not traded. It was priced at $50 per share. Shares are allocated to qualified investors with accounts at underwriting brokerage firms. Trading will not commence until tomorrow--probably a couple of hours after the market opens.
