Hi Victor Lazlo; Re: Went in to the Gateway store yesterday. The sales rep told me AMD was out and support was huge for coppermine and that Rambus was the big talk. That the type of DD I like to here. Before you get too excited about what Gateway (or Dell) salesmen say, you might want to do the following. Go to gateway.com Look through their desktop machines. Notice that they don't sell anything more than a couple models of K6-2s from AMD. Now, put yourself in the shoes of a salesman who is trying to sell high end x86 machines, but doesn't have much in the way of Coppermines to sell, and isn't going to get any Athlons. You'd tell the customer to wait for the Intel machine, too, wouldn't you? The alternative is to tell him to shop somewhere else. The real test is to wander into a computer store that has both machines on the floor. Don't ask what you should buy, that will only tell you which machines have the higher commissions. Instead, ask which machines are selling well. -- Carl
