I am passing on the IPO. While Web Street is probably just looking to cover their rear ends, the questions that they were asking sounded more like you were applying for an options account. When they want to know your net worth, investment objectives etc. I stopped filling out the form. Someone else can have my shares. Of course this probably means the IPO will go up a hundred percent the first day. : )

I spoke to one of the bosses at Web Street this morning regarding the slow access to Web Street with dsl line once the market opens. He acknowledged the problem and said they hoped to install a T3 line in the next couple of weeks. Essentially what they currently have (T1 I think) can't handle the speed of dsl and cable. From a business perspective they had better upgrade or as dsl and cable come into wider use customers will leave in droves. I'm going to hang in there and hope they upgrade or I'll be forced to find a broker that can handle dsl. The trick is to find a broker that matches all of my needs. When I look at the rating sites and then read customer comments, it looks like they all come up short.
