Sorry Brian there's no such thing as a typical MSFT basher - we come from all walks of life with many different perspectives on why we don't like the company. In fact, it's not even hate but more disgust in some cases....

Many of us usually enjoy pointing out the less than ethical behavior of this monopoly especially when they complain about being treated unfairly :)

Some of us enjoy pointing out the less than stellar performance of their products or overhanded marketing (I love the latest tactic - email your Congressperson and kill the DOJ's AntiTrust Divisions budget!).

I can say this with all the conviction my body can muster - my dislike for MSFT has NOTHING to do with their money/position or "success". The only reason you may find that hard to believe is because you find comfort in thinking I'm a jealous fool or something to dislike MSFT!

WRONG. Besides, that would be short sighted of you :)

I actually almost want to applaud them for all they have done...it's just the other things that make me wince. Perhaps they seem more like the school yard bully who has taken everyone's lunch money just one time too many.....the price of everything else in this industry had fallen over the last 5 years but an upgrade to Windows is STILL $89. Why? No competition! This is a good thing - for MSFT ONLY!

I also enjoy listening to their cheerleaders and supporters - I strongly believe these people are "fair weather friends" meaning as long as they make money from MSFT, they support them. There is no other kind of "friend of MSFT" or "MSFT Supporter" period.
