I believe the quiet period refers to the period before analysis (usually the underwriters and syndicate) can initiate coverage of the issue. Judging from the number of CEOs that come on CNBC the day their company goes public. I don't know if the company is restricted from talking about itself after the IPO date.

i am very positive about this. if the quiet period is indeed that long without any announcements, that only gives you a better chance to buy the stock under 20. i hope it goes down to 15. (this is the glass half full approach) the one that involves putting more money in your pocket !

wouldnt you want charter to fall a little more so early in there game ?
