Cisco Chief Executive John Chambers said he was slightly more optimistic than in the past couple quarters about the company's Y2K outlook. Corporate and government spending is hard to predict in the fiscal second quarter, and Cisco predicts its corporate, or enterprise, business will be flat to down compared with the first quarter, he said. But only a few customers will freeze their spending entirely, Chambers said on a conference call.
