WFII -->taking tenth place on Redherring.com's list of all-time first-day performances:
redherring.com

here's the dd for WFII:

Wireless communications is one of the markets hottest sectors, both in terms of growth and valuation. The latest development, broadband wireless, is setting off a frenzy of development among all the major players. This firm provides strategic, business, and engineering expertise to wireless firms. Its services also include deployment, network management, and technology research.

The firm is growing at a 53.2% rate with 1999 revenues forecast in the $66 million range. It is also profitable with a 8.5% operating margin. So this is not one of the typical emerging firms we usually see in the IPO arena. With a staff of 508 consultants it has the critical mass to make it a credible player.

Valuations are expected to be strong in this sector and recent IPO Predictive Systems may provide some insight. Predictive Systems was offered on 10/27 at $18 and closed at $35.88, up 99.3% on the first day. After 2 days of trading, it traded at $45, up 25.4% in the aftermarket. Wireless Facilities is more focused and 65% larger than Predictive Systems.
