To echo your thoughts.. if MOT and Nokia can barely generate CDMA ASICS that function, needing QCOM to hold their hands the whole time, I think it remains to be seen whether the Chinese could develop their own flavor of CDMA, which avoids QCOM IPR (yeah, right, tell that to ERICY) and make it work. And even should that set of miracles occur, good luck getting anyone other than China to use it... can we say Personal Handyphone System?
