EDIT--Here's some news--

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1999--

Business Objects Provides Fast, Efficient Reporting Mechanism to
Motorola Satellite Support and Manufacturing Groups

Users of Motorola Satellite Series(TM) phones and pagers have the
ability to communicate in some of the most remote areas on the planet,
due in part to a constellation of low-Earth orbiting satellites.
Using WebIntelligence(TM), the integrated query, reporting, and
online analytical processing (OLAP) tool for the internet from
Business Objects, Motorola can track and maintain manufacturing of the
satellite parts, which are part of the Iridium(R) global
communications system.
The Satellite Communications Group uses Business Objects, the
world's leading provider of integrated enterprise decision support
tools, to track the exact whereabouts of satellite parts -- which can
number 100,000 or more per satellite -- in the manufacturing process.
Motorola manufacturing engineers rely on the ad hoc reporting
capabilities of WebIntelligence and BusinessObjects(TM), the company's
full client decision support toOl, to understand a satellite's
configuration to ensure high maintenance and quality standards.
"Business Objects has played an important role in improving our
management decisions concerning the manufacturing of satellites," said
Scot Grant, manager, Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology
Solutions and Services for Motorola. "We're dependent on the ability
to generate real-time quality, work-in-process, and as-built
configuration reports for each manufactured satellite. The quality of
service Motorola provides its satellite communications customers
depends on satellites that work, and Business Objects provides both
our manufacturing and engineering management with easy access to
information to ensure this is the case."
Based on the information contained in the reports, Motorola's
management can quickly make key business decisions and initiate
corrective action. Using these reporting tools, engineers simply query
the manufacturing databases to look for specific manufacturing data,
such as which satellites contain a specific part number received from
a given vendor.
"WebIntelligence and BusinessObjects provide powerful tools for
our engineers that allows them to spot trends and identify problems
before they take place," said David Busfield, Systems Analyst for
Motorola's Manufacturing Systems. "Data that used to take five days to
derive from multiple sources can now be retrieved very quickly, which
represents enormous cost savings in labor and productivity to our
organization."
"Motorola has created a system using WebIntelligence and
BusinessObjects that provides for fast, efficient communications
between front-line engineers and their management chain so that
satellite production and maintenance will always run smoothly," said
Alex Moissis, vice president of Americas marketing at Business
Objects. "Our strategic partnership with Motorola is a great example
of how Business Objects can play an integral role in the success of
our customers."

BWEB think of this as the beginning. What will the future hold when their "push" technology becomes imbedded in the whole Internet infrastructure? And what will happen if they become the de facto technology. Think what they will be worth when they have 5000 clients. The future at this stage looks very rosy.
