Burt,
We know Aopen Athlon motherboards have been in the works. Assuming the Aopen unit uses an Aopen board, this is a good find on your part. You could be an AMD shareholder yet but you've missed out on a good move already...

Burt, <I simply read an add in the paper and reported on it to the thread>
You lie. It was not "simply reported", it was
reported in intentionally insulting form for AMD
investors. Therefore the tone of my response.

<Just the basic I apologize will do.>
I do not apologize to enemies. However, I may want
even to thank you for confirmation that one more
"secret" non-announced mainboard for AMD Athlon
processor, from Acer/AOpen, is now on the market.

<I have no idea whether Aopen makes Athlon boards or not and I don't care.>
You may not, and I do not care about what
do you care for. However, AMD investors do care,
and probably will join me for thanking you.
Before reporting, you should notice a little
sign (R) in superscript to the word "AOpen",
with capital "O" in the middle.
Advertisers usually do care about registered
trademarks, even on your isolated island.

As it turns out after short digging, AOpen did have
plans to launch a K7-Athlon mainboard:
pcparadox.com

"Yes we would probably launch our first Athlon board in 1999 Q4, more details will come later."

So, I guess, your post is a confirmation that
the product does exist. According to your
description, the system is even nicely equipped.
Thank you.

<Don't worry. Everyone on the threads will know whether you act honorably in this matter. Or not.>
I do not worry nor care. But I am glad that I was
mistaken about existence of AOpen Athlon boards.
