This is a change for Cabletron. It looks like Cisco and Cabletron might have patched up the old Cabletron versus the Cisco Kid fiasco.

SPECTRUM Expands Integrated Management of Cisco Products

Company Increases Multivendor Management Solutions

DURHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1999--SPECTRUM, the leader in scalable, multivendor network management, today announced increased functionality that gives SPECTRUM customers the ability to view, manage and control much of the latest hardware from Cisco Systems. SPECTRUM intelligently models and understands relationships between Cisco products and all other devices deployed in the network--a patented feature unique in the management industry.

``There are other management tools that allow you to manage Cisco products, but they don't offer a deep understanding of how multivendor products relate to one another in the network,' said John McComb, manager of systems and network monitoring services at Texas Instruments. ``SPECTRUM's acute understanding of the relationships between multivendor devices and their related service areas or business departments is what sets it apart from other platforms.'

The added functionality expands SPECTRUM's current Cisco device management abilities to include multivendor connectivity mapping for Cisco's Access Server; Catalyst 1200, 1400 and 2900 series, and the Cisco 3810. SPECTRUM already manages a majority of flagship Cisco product lines, including the Cisco Catalyst 5000 and 5500 series, Lightstream 1010 series and any Cisco routers running 10.X IOS or greater.

SPECTRUM's advanced Cisco router management is unmatched in the industry. SPECTRUM's scalability coupled with its understanding of Cisco router firmware allows a customer to easily monitor and control vast amounts of traffic running through Cisco routers. This significantly reduces the number of required tools as well as the training and administration associated with managing Cisco equipment in an enterprise or service provider network.

``SPECTRUM's growing multivendor management expertise encompasses hundreds of products from over 140 data and voice networking vendors including Cisco,' said SPECTRUM's President, Michael Skubisz. ``SPECTRUM's integrated modeling of multivendor networks, systems and applications offers IT managers an unrivaled approach to managing the delivery of diverse data and communication services.'

In a recent NetworkWorld survey on network management, SPECTRUM was voted number one over products from Hewlett Packard, Tivoli and Computer Associates in four decision-making categories: Scalability, Integration, Management Capabilities and Overall Value. According to the survey, SPECTRUM leads in overall customer satisfaction and is the management software most would purchase again.

Information and pricing for SPECTRUM and Cisco Management Modules for SPECTRUM are available by contacting SPECTRUM sales at 603-337-1588, as well as by contacting authorized SPECTRUM resellers worldwide.
