Point well taken. One can reduce the risk with research, but there still is too much unforseen. There are bad, foolish and criminal businessmen out there. I do my analysis and then seek these 'other' indicators to flavor my judgement. You work to get the warm feeling. Sometimes its intuition, sometimes the vapors. Sorry for the bad luck on Cybercash. I got burned on a biotech issue, GENZL. Research looked very good. The parent company, Genzyme, loaded debt (looked like ALL R&D costs) on GENZL itself. I bought it at 9. It rocketed to 3. I was riding a big win on ASND and thought I was a Wiz. Ouch! I learned my lesson and now stay away from things I don't understand. I believe there will be plenty of winners in E-commerce. But it is still very much a wild frontier. Some will survive the journey across it and be strong. Some will join the Donner party and be lunch in the mountains. It looks like NETP has been discovered by the herd. Its intangibles are still look good to me. I speculate this is a major move and not just pump and dump by the shorts. Hold on tight.
