GW: Remember the mantra Gerald, MSFT stole everything and then defended the repository of the stolen goods with illegal tactics. All of a sudden everyone is realizing that MSFT bought a major part of their "lousy" software from others and did not in fact invent same.

I almost hope MSFT does auction off the O/S and then watch the winning bidders get crushed in the market place. Only problem is that they would go back to the DOJ and say they were sold an inoperable code.

The same complaint would follow if any or all of the other "remedies" were implemented. JFD

Support for WWW was already available off-the-shelf before Win-95 came around.

I think you took exception to my post about the lack of innovation. You then agreed in your response that they hadn't innovated, but integrated.

Integration is valuable and I never disputed that. What I was stating is that the OS market, especially the UI lay relatively unchaged for almost 8 years. The monopoly surpressed innovation, just like the textbooks say...

That was my point.
