I can't go back and point out step by step what Lundin has done, but they are very good at shifting risk onto other entities that they set up or back, while remaining in a position to profit if a speculative enterprise pays off.

In addition to Sodra, there's been the Red Sea Oil thing and Tanganyika Oil.

I own Lundin Oil, but sometimes wonder if the stock if that company itself may not turn out to be a vehicle for the geological and finanacial adventures of the company management. But at least it keeps one's interest up.
