Well, well, more news!

Net Shepherd Technology On Show At Baanworld Exposition

Calgary, Alberta --
Provides launch pad for commercial production version of Net Shepherd technology

Net Shepherd Inc. (ASE: WEB) announced today that it has been invited by the Vanenburg Group (one of its major shareholders) to participate in the BaanWorld 99 Exposition in Vienna, Austria this month.

"The invitation to Net Shepherd to attend this global, high-level event is a timely opportunity for us, because we have just completed the commercial commissioning of Version 2.0 of our Internet Community Management System (ICMS)", said Don Sandford, Net Shepherd's President & CEO. "This means that we are now 'open for business' for a variety of applications of this technology."

"In this new Version, the ICMS is particularly suited to the commercial-scale collection of data across the Internet. We're looking at applications like business intelligence and the characterization of web pages, such as categorizing educational sites for different levels of sophistication", continued Sandford. "We are therefore particularly interested in talking to providers of business intelligence, website publishers and companies which editorialise or provide content for websites."

"We now have a great deal of capability and capacity to offer in these areas," said Ray Marchand, Net Shepherd's Vice-President for Business Development, who is attending the Exposition. "The Net Shepherd on-line community can be formed into Distributed Task Forces for particular pieces of work. They are already dealing with over one million pieces of data collection or website evaluations every month. With the new system, we have the ability to more than treble that amount."

"Now that ICMS 2.0 is commercially available, we're starting development work on Version 3.0", said Sandford. "This will have much wider commercial applications than 2.0 and will enable us to provide a richer experience for our on-line community members. Version 3.0 will also use highly sophisticated machine tools such as neural networks to enable us to offer faster, more sophisticated and lower cost services to our customers. This will be available during the second half of 2000."

"In the meantime", concluded Sandford, "Version 2.0 is now commercially available in some very large markets. For example, Forrester, the US Internet analysts, estimate that the business intelligence market alone will be worth $11 billion within five years. Our attendance at BaanWorld helps us to put Version 2.0 to work in those markets."

Background Notes:

Denise,

Well I am certainly excited about the recent activity surrounding Net Shepherd. The announcement of a new company focusing on Business Intelligence was exciting enough by itself, but to have David Herman head the company as CEO is simply astounding! Mr. Herman has a very impressive background in this market, serving most recently as a Partner within Dun & Bradstreet. D&B is the leading provider of business-to-business credit, marketing, purchasing, and receivables management and decision-support services worldwide. D&B has a comprehensive database, which covers more than 53 million businesses in over 200 countries. Tell me that's not impressive!

And also there is today's announcement of NSI's invitation by the Vanenburg Group to participate in the BaanWorld 99 Exposition in Vienna, Austria this month. As NSI's CEO Don Sanford said in the news release stated "The invitation to Net Shepherd to attend this global, high-level event is a timely opportunity for us, because we have just completed the commercial commissioning of Version 2.0 of our Internet Community Management System (ICMS). This means that we are now 'open for business' for a variety of applications of this technology."

I for one have been sitting and waiting (sometimes impatiently) for the news we all knew would be forthcoming, and these announcements are right on target. A roadmap for NSI was released at the last AGM, and it was further reviewed by the management team to a group of us that met with them at the end of July. These announcements together with the completion of their technology development and the purchase of Answers.com from idealabs! show that the company has planned a solid business plan, and are well into the building of a firm foundation to effectively deliver an attractive business for us as investors.

It will only be a short while until NSI is listed on NASDAQ. When the rest of the US investors learn about this company and their model I am certain that we will really appreciate the fantastic buying opportunity that we have right now.

I'm glad that I have never sold a share of this stock, and I will look for opportunities to accumulate more as the days go by.

Barry
