Clay?

What are you blathering about? I think CSCO's position on "old world" is targeted at circuit switches... not LU's attempt to build "new world" product lines. So, you're off base there.

As for the rest... there is no doubt that this is a technology race. Cisco is purchasing companies to better compete in the area of optics. LU has some of these products and is developing others....thus there is competition and competition is good. As I said before - the market is big enough and growing fast enough for LU, NT, CSCO and a few others to do very well. I'm sorry if this appears like spin to.

Finally, as for CSCO's strategy... they have done a good job at keeping competitors off balance. I wouldn't read too much into what is said regarding core networking strategies- I'd spend more time on what is done.

Sorry if I'm not credible enough for you.. do me a favor and please click the "ignore" button below so you will no longer need to listen to my posts. I really don't want to get into a whining "contest" with you. I'm long LU and I'm long CSCO. I find it strange that anyone could be long any stock in this sector and not enjoy the surge Cisco has given it.

Clay, he's just a little kid that likes to hear himself talk. Ignore him like everybody else.

Thank you clay for backing me up. When Ascend was leading ATM technology Cisco brushed it as something unimportant. Ascend gave a true whipping. Stratacom is a total disaster. Now Listwin says IP/ATM is becoming important and are in the process of releasing MGXII. A vaporware. Listwin has no clue about wireless and talks about leadership by buying a LAN wireless midget company called AIR'ONet.

LU is clearly stating different segments with their revenues. Cisco could not even tell analysts the real breakdown of enterprise, service provider markets. They do not to reveal the reality that is Cisco is a wannabe telco company.

Regards,
BR
