SCNT looks well on its way to $300.Annual growth estimated at 600%. 10/15/99 - Software firm Cysive up after IPO NEW YORK, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Shares of software engineering firm Cysive Inc. (CYSV .O) doubled in price in their Wall Street debut Friday, shrugging off the sharp decline in the stock market. Cysive shares were up 18-1/2 at 35-1/2 on the Nasdaq stock market, although the technology-laden Nasdaq index (.IXIC) was down 57 points at 2,750 and the Dow industrials (.DJI) were off 170 points at 10,116. Cysive, based in Reston, Va., helps firms build highly customized systems supporting large-scale e-business. Companies offering complex technology for e-commerce have been hot commodities in the new-issues market. "These IPOs (initial public offerings) -- the hot ones -- are defying gravity when they come out," said John Fitzgibbon of RedHerring.com. He said of Cysive, "It"s an e-commerce software firm and it"s similar to recently-public Scient Corp. (SCNT .O) and RazorFish Inc. (RAZF .O)." Cysive raised $56.95 million after offering 3.35 million shares in its IPO -- a 30 percent stake in the firm. The shares prices at $17 each, above the expected range of $14-$16. The company posted revenues of $9.4 million for the six months ended June 30, and a net loss of $11.4 million. Cysive"s competitors includes Scient, Proxicom Inc. (PXCM .O) and Viant Inc. (VIAN .O), as well as information technology consulting service providers. The stock is too new and the chart doesn't bode too well for a hold through earnings. Keep it in your database for a possible day or 2 day hold BEFORE the report comes out.
