Authentec . . .

From today's American Banker:

"Authentec Inc. said its FingerLoc biometric security system has gone into full production, with five companies agreeing to incorporate it into products they make.

. . .

"Authentec's original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, contracts are with Biometric Identification Inc. in the access control field, Sense Inc. for time-and-attendance systems, LeapFrog Smart Products Inc. for smart cards, Silver Reader Inc. of Taiwan for smart card and personal computer peripheral devices, and Chuo Spring Co. of Japan for industrial and residential access control."

====================

With the exception of BII, this is a pretty obscure list. However, I have heard that Authentec has gotten very aggressive on pricing, and it's interesting that it seems to be pushing hard on the access control market. I don't see smart card revenues happening any time soon, though.
