>> The closing price 54,200 compares with 50,000 which is Merrill Lynch's estimate for September 2000 and 55,000 which is Lehman's estimate for July 2000. And Steve Harmon says its fair value right now is $500 but it's selling for more than that. I thought its fair value was 42000<<

I suspect that the Merrill and Lehman estimates were performed based on the fair value of the positions of the Company -- the fair value changes daily so one would need a dynamic model. I've seen the Merrill analysis and they did some real work on it.

In any regard, the analyses were prepared before the Nasdaq Japan formation -- as well as other asset investments and monetizations of investments -- so the target may be higher. The Steve Harmon analysis seemed a little too simpleton in its target determination, especially when contrasted with the Merrill analysis.

The present run of sftbf is quite amazing; already up over 5% today. Is it at all likely that a split will occur in the near future? I'm not knowledgeable about Japanese stocks. Thanks for your very informative posts on this thread.
