kampai! er, l'chaim, gentlemen!

time to update the head-to-head, NN:

CMVT +173.1% YTD
LUzer + 35.8% YTD

(frankly, i'd take either in any normal decade)

luckily, i've had the privilege of supping at both Nobu and NDNobu. the cold sake out of the frozen oak branch tubes at the former is simply divine, but you know, i'm not so sure i could tell the diff between $12 a piece toro (yikes!) and DC's sushi-ko's standard $8 a pair tuna bellies. on the other hand, that black sea bass is simply unworldly and NDN's wasabi rockshrimp, well, rocked my half-japanese world.

(japanese is upper half)

if either of you ever venture south of the mason-dixon, sport your fave clockwork orange or 2001 get-up and i'll treat you here (my fave locale of the moment). their spicy tobiko (aka flying fish roe) will give you boys some color. <vbg>

ha!

TD,

In the city, Blue Ribbon.

I am stuck here as we speak.

Tonite I will be at the gym. Tom Galvin from DLJ works out there and if I see him this evening I will ask him if this is the start of the "Y2K melt up" he was looking for. Maybe only the Nasdaq melts up.

However, this stock is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. My realized and unrealized profits are larger than the GDP of Saskatchewan but I have yet to get any congratulations from clients or anybody in the office. All I am asking for is one high-five.

Half the people in my apartment building own the stock in the $20s and they still won't hold the elevator for me. If there isn't a stack of Cristal & Dom outside my door around New Years I might have to buy the building and bulldoze it.

New York, New York

the city so nice

they named it twice.
