We believe this would be worth approximately $50 billion, providing upside to GMST stock.

give it a few days...i put my shares in a safe.
if 400-500 million daily page views are worth $50 billion. what is this company going to be worth in a few years when the total is expected to be 30-40 times that amount?

i don't think aol or yahoo gets 400 million hits yet.

"7. We believe Gemstar's EPG business can grow rapidly to an installed base of 30M in a few years. We believe this would be worth approximately $50 billion, providing upside to GMST stock. Our rating is Strong Buy."

cfm,

The 50 billion was in reference to the guide business of the US market in a few years from an estimated base of 30M. You additionally have licensing fees from the likes of MS, AOL and others. More importantly, Gemstar is operational in 39 countries outside of the US. Henry will leverage this base as he is doing domestically. The current global market exceeds 500M and is growing.

is this the understatement of the yr. or what.

50 billion and a new high and only two posts. hmmm.

100cfm, it's funny you say this. I was actually mulling this comment over in my mind over lunch today. Please check my thinking on this. I'm assuming he meant 50 billion in annual revenues. At a conservative 4 times sales, this would put GMST at a market cap of $200 billion in the not too distant future. When I came up with this simple calculation, it was too much to comprehend and I stopped thinking about it until I saw your post.

Is this too simplistic, or am I thinking about this the right way? If so, it's mind boggling.
