I had always heard that once a transmission got to the point that there was significant "gunk," it was better to leave it that way than to use additives to remove it for fear of ending up with a worse problem that with it gunked up. Any thoughts?

I described my problem to the man at the parts store, and he said duralube was the best treatment for sticking tranny valves. The problem is disappearing more as I put some miles on the new fluid/treatment. I believe I can live with it now.

Thanks again,
