Picked off? I don't think so. I think the thing is more sinister than this. I do not defend tobacco companies. In fact I take James I's position on tobacco use. Nevertheless many states have assaulted the tobacco industry, apparently uninterested in eliminating the industry as a whole. One would think if the tobacco industry is so deadly, those suing it would want to prevent it from doing future damage. They are interested in no such thing. They merely want money, and would love to have the industry stick around to "kill" people so that they might milk it again when the opportunity arises.
