pretty well, mr. mark dood.

i saw that the guru/ignore debate seems to have taken over the welcome thread again. i thought your remark was dead on about not really ignoring someone when you tell them you're ignoring them. in fact, i was walking on my lunch hour with two co-workers (for exercise) and i commented about such a situation. i felt like i was witnessing a grade school kid covering his/her ears and saying "i'm not listening." it was all a little sad to tell you the truth. so si-wise, i'm a little discouraged also. i hang out a lot on the myth thread and those folks have taken a beating in the market for a long time. i try to be positive but sometimes don't know how to be. i hope i make a difference in a positive way there. i'd like to think people are learning and growing over there, but they get pretty frustrated.

i'm not sure what i'm saying really. just rambling. i got a little si discouraged over the last day or two so thought i'd say hi over here. non-si, though, things are going well.

sometimes it's a positive thought just getting through. nothing super special about it, but just one foot in front of another. "all you can do is do what you must...you do what you must do and you do it well."

your pal,

antdood

(grab the 700 grub!)

Meanwhile, I'm sending a positive thought your way: Despite all the recent jostling on "feelies," the sympathetic response to my posting about my uncle's final illness and death was amazing both there and elsewhere on SI! Some of the PMs (even from people I don't know, people who don't like me, people with whom there have been sharp differences) brought tears to me, tears of gratitude at the good we can do for one another.

To hell with the dross in life and on SI. Let's concentrate on all of the joy and help one another through the tough times.
