Gordon, my profit taking strategy is 20% in a day, 40% in a week, or 50% in a month on short sales. With longs, I use a trailing stop loss.

"Going down with the ship when you are not the captain, makes no sense.

It sure doesn't. Also, it makes no sense to be a 'long term' investor in a company when there are many questions about the company's viability and honesty. There are just too many companies out there which you don't have to worry about.
