Mani, i believe what they are saying is the brokerage firm must have the shares on hand to borrow against. this means, basically, that there aren't a whole lot of shares floating around from which to borrow. good news for us.... as for short-term trends in the stock, anyone who tells you they know where the stock is going next week is either dillusional or a liar...UNLESS they know of pending news....

Mani. I have been doing Float analysis on MRV for a long time. Many here have questioned the move on no news. My take is we should not be surprised that our stock has found some new demand. Because so much of our float is owned by Investors, our liquidity is marginal and this may have something to do with that message. As new demand from funds increases, it is highly likely that substative moves will happen. There are simply not enough shares in the free float. ( The part of the float Uncommitted. We have many long timers who have invested in this stock for a long time, they know it well. As Investor awareness broadens so will the pressure to exchange the committed parts of the float unless the price is very high. At this point MRV is a supply limited play, that is the only explaination you need to understand how we can go up 5 points on 2 mil odd shares. Keep watching this is going to be fun, the stock must Split and all talk by the committed portions of the Float should be aware of this.
