To thread: can any of you experts comment on this news release by INVX. Is this a big deal or what? Thanks. HOPKINS, Minn., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovex, Inc. (Nasdaq: INVX) announced today that it has demonstrated a significant dynamic response improvement with the Company's Flex Suspension Assembly (FSA) product line. FSA is a wireless suspension assembly utilizing high-density flexible circuit interconnect technology. The new FSA manufacturing process offers a 50% attenuation of suspension torsion gain, which is comparable to the effect seen by adding a constrained layer damper to competing wireless suspension assemblies. Suspension dynamic response plays a major role in the tracking ability of the disk drive. By minimizing side-to-side head motion from the suspension, drive manufacturers are able to achieve higher density disks by mechanically following more densely spaced tracks. "The new FSA process allows the disk drive to operate at higher tracks per inch (tpi) and allows drive manufacturers to increase overall drive capacity at significant savings," commented Keith Foerster, Innovex's senior director - advanced HGA development. Constrained layer dampers, which typically cost $0.05 to $0.10 per assembly, are used on a significant percentage of disk drives being produced today. Assuming four heads per drive, a potential cost saving of $0.20 to $0.40 per drive is available today for FSA customers. Innovex, Inc. is a leading supplier of flexible circuit-based interconnect solutions to the computer, networking, communication, storage, consumer, medical, and other electronic industries. Applications for flex-based interconnects include cellular telephones, hard disk drives, and other storage systems, high-end consumer products, notebook computers, pagers and personal communications systems. Innovex is known worldwide for its excellence in advanced engineering and low cost manufacturing. Rich
