Anthony,

ABC has been running synchronized web content with Monday Night Football for most of the season now. It sounds like HyperTV - only their version of it.

I would have to assume that if it were ACTV's software (HyperTV) synchronizing the content then there would have been a press release a long time ago. Something about an agreement with Monday Night Football or ABC. It would be a very big deal and I can't see ACTV passing up the opportunity to let that be known.

(long since $6 - incase my motives are in question)

tom

Re: The Drew Carey Show

"ON NOVEMBER 17TH, TAKE PART IN PRIMETIME'S FIRST EVER WEBCAST ENHANCED TELEVISION EPISODE!
On TV you'll get the same funny well-acted Drew Carey episode you get each week, hooked up to the Drew Cam you'll get an exclusive view of the action, and some extra surprises you won't see on TV.

Drew fact: The Drew Cam itself won't make much sense without watching the Drew Carey TV episode at the same time."

Full information at abc.go.com

JMHO, but any show that "pulls together" TV and the internet is good for IATV, whether or not they are directly involved. These efforts prepare the public's mindset for the ultimate convergence.

Here's another "blurb" abut the upcoming show:

"...The already filmed "Internet" or "Drew Cam" (official title) episode is going to be broadcast on the ABC Television Network in its regular time slot. Fans can simultaneously view the TV episode and the web companion to the TV broadcast. What is great about this episode is that, if you have access to the Internet, you can get the added bonus of seeing extra scenes that will not air on television. The Drew Cam will give viewers a glimpse of what really goes on in Drew's house when Drew's not home. It doesn't matter what time zone you live in, just tune in to the show at the regularly scheduled hour (9 p.m. ET/PT and 8 p.m. Cental/Mountain) and log on to www.winloud.com on Wednesday, November 17, 1999."

And, BTW, I don't usually watch the show either, but because of the publicity given the live show and the upcoming "internet" show, I tuned in. It got MY attention! <G>

"...This week's live episode will be followed next week by an episode with an Internet theme. In that episode, Carey gets his own Web page and video camera, which beams his life to online surfers. And as the episode airs on TV, Carey's video camera will transmit the show to online users."
