Answers to some recently raised questions on this thread can be found at messages.yahoo.com In particular, I answered the question about publication of the first study.

Regarding withdrawal of the article from AJIC, I asked what was meant by "pre-release of data". The only data that the company pre-released was contained in the press release announcing that AJIC would publish the article. biz.yahoo.com Since all of this data is in the abstract that was presented at Corfu, I asked why AJIC was upset about it being in the press release. The company doesn't understand why AJIC got upset. My personal conclusion (not the company's) is that politics were solely responsible for the article being withdrawn. I can think of a company and a certain group of individuals who would have a motive for encouraging AJIC to withdraw the article, but I won't mention any names. The bottom line is that the company didn't do anything wrong and it's irrelevant anyway. Zicam is selling out all over the country and Gum Tech will in all likelihood be firmly in the black in Q4.
