>Thanks for your spin.....and patience with this lond winded post written too late for me to actually make sense of. :~)

You're welcome. You actually made a lot of sense to me :~)

One last word. The opinions I have given you, are all based on my best effort and ability to analyze these alternatives. You need to make your own analysis and reach your own decisions. Goes without saying.

Good luck, and don't hesitate to add.

From time to time there are references to ISCO and SCON on this thread, and it's important to realize that the only thing they have in common with AMSC is the "supercontuctor" in their names. ISCO and SCON make products to enhance wireless transmission. AMSC produces superconducting wire for the use of electrical transmission, SMES boxes to store power and eliviate power fluctuations, and engines.

Incidently, while the last earnings release was dissapointing, the forward guidence was not. Management (specifically Yurek) made very clear that they were not revising their goal of 30 SMES orders by fiscal year end, that in fact they had more contact with potential customers than was the case when the goal was set. Yurek stated that the SMES prodution unit would be in the black by tne end of next fiscal year. Developement of facilities to produce 2x and then 10x more wire were proceeding on track, and Yurek seemed (this is my impression) to convey a sense of urgency in vastly increasing their ability to produce both SMES boxex and wire, as next year was going to be a watershed year in terms of sales. Sales force had been increased, as well. To say that they were confident on the conference call would be an understatement. I'm not sure, but I think that if you call IR at AMSC, you can get an access number to listen to the conference call.

One last thing that I think is important. Companies like ISCO are selling for pennies because when they needed money they basically had to visit a loan shark to get it. Do a search on SI for "floorless convertable" or "death spiral" if your unfamiliar with how the game is played. AMSC, on the other hand, has a working relationship with both Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, both of whom would love to do another offering if more cash needed to be raised. While dilutative in the short term, a legitimate offering by first tier investment banks results in more of AMSC's stock being in the hands of institutional owners.
