Hi Robert:

As you know, I was previously heavily involved in writing a newsletter and in consulting to some institutions with respect to my tech research. The newsletter required an enormous commitment of time and effort. I enjoyed doing it, but it did not provide sufficient return to justify the work load.

Additionally, because it was a reasonably frank publication, I was frequently threatened with suits, and harassed in other "distasteful" (actually much worse than that) ways. Big companies can make one's life miserable through nuisance suits. Essentially, they will initiate a legal action (knowing full well that they would lose if the process ever reached court) in the belief that the massive legal costs will inflict sufficient pain that future antagonistic analysts will think twice before tackling them. Though "The Tech Review" was never sued, the constant threat of same can be wearing, especially on one's family. In the end, it wasn't worth the stress.

An additional factor in my decision to give up the newsletter was the fact that I had several investors approach me with respect to managing funds (short)on their behalf . I have spent considerable time of late in exploring all aspects of this exciting opportunity.

Finally, the level of "worry" out there on the part of sophisticated investors appears to be accelerating, which has caused the consulting side of my game (particularly portfolio and/or single stock research reviews) to explode. It has been an extremely busy Autumn. (g)

Best, Earlie
