Datek may have a problem that is similar to what I'm experiencing with Web Street. I have cut and pasted some of my posts from that thread. Does it sound familiar? Call and ask if they use a T1 line or something similar that can't handle the speed of dsl/cable. Hope this helps. Good luck!
1. "Don't know how long it will last but as of this time Web Street tech support said that they are having problems with accounts that access them using DSL or cable. I'm using a DSL line through Flashcom. Prior to the market opening I get to my trading password in two seconds or less. Once the market opens it takes up to 35 seconds to get to the trading password."
2. "I spoke to one of the bosses at Web Street this morning regarding the slow access to Web Street with dsl line once the market opens. He acknowledged the problem and said they hoped to install a T3 line in the next couple of weeks. Essentially what they currently have (T1 I think) can't handle the speed of dsl and cable."
